Jeremy Scott celebrated 20 years of his iconic label on Friday night during New York Fashion Week. Scott paid tribute to his roots in avant-garde 1999 deconstruction and streetwear in a fun loving way, as well as his current position as one of Hollywoods hottest designers. The cast opened up with Devon Aoki, his longtime model and muse, followed by famous young stars including Coco Rocha, Joan Smalls, Stella Maxwell, Gigi Hadid and Sofia Richie (proud dad Lionel Richie was caught sitting in the front row).
The clothes were a glamorous sporty combo, with cartoon biker jackets and sports jerseys; couture ruffle backpacks and belt bags; crystalized mesh dresses and ginormous jewel sheer black gowns.
Jeremy Scott also released a limited edition capsule collection that features reinterpretations of his iconic designs including; graffiti printed tees, sweatshirts, and denim jackets that read, “Keep Fashion Weird” and “Viva Avant Garde," on sale now at jeremyscott.com.
With a welcoming environment between bloggers, celebrities, and models before the show, elevated runway, followed by a wild after party, it feels like Scott is taking ownership of his work, from the past and future. Here’s to the next 20 years Jeremy.
