As most of us struggled through the first 30 minutes of the Super Bowl anxiously awaiting the only real reason we are all watching the game. Lady Gaga appears. As expected Lady Gaga went for a diverse party themed routine with glitter and upbeat songs declaring "We're here to make you feel good".
Wearing a shiny, silver, shoulder padded alien-esque bodysuit with matching high-heeled boots, Lady Gaga propelled into NRG Stadium. She was lowered through the air, on suspension cables and started belting her hit “Poker Face” stating, “I want to hold ’em like they do in Texas.” (The Super Bowl was apparently in Texas)
Next was "Born This Way". Her dance floor pop hit about acceptance of all people "Whether you're black, white, or beige".. "No matter gay, straight, or bi" .."I was born to survive". Were sure Mike Pence was on his feet while dozens of dancers from multiple skin tones and genders joined her on stage in a inclusive line embodying her message of empowerment.
Politics aside, most of the show was a teenage girl, gay mans dream performance. Songs like "Telephone" as we all anxiously watched hoping Beyonce was going to come out. Club hit "Bad Romance", and her first single "Just Dance" finished by "Million Reasons" from her new album Joanne. The crowd waved orange electric torches as she fiercely performed across the stage.
Lady Gaga ended her performance with one last "mic drop" which was more of a "mic spike". As the show ended the crowd was filled with big smiles and glitter. For those who want to sound like they didn't just watch the Super Bowl for Lady Gaga at work today, the Patriots won in overtime 34 - 28.
